Learning Tree High School & Jr. College: Rules and Regulations Handbook

At Learning Tree High School & Jr. College, we believe that a disciplined and structured environment is crucial for effective learning and personal development. To maintain the integrity of our academic community, we have established the following rules and regulations governing various aspects of school life:

1. Classrooms:

  • Punctuality: Students must be in their classrooms before the bell rings. Latecomers disrupt the learning process and are subject to consequences.

  • Respect for Property: Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of classrooms. Students are responsible for the proper care of school property, including desks, chairs, and teaching materials.

  • Academic Focus: Active participation in classroom activities is encouraged. Students are expected to pay attention, participate in discussions, and demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence.

2. Transport:

  • Safety Measures: When using school transportation, students must adhere to safety protocols. This includes wearing seat belts, staying seated during transit, and following the instructions of the bus driver or supervisor.

  • Punctuality: Students using school transport must be at their designated pick-up points on time to ensure the smooth operation of the transport system.

3. Student Leave:

  • Written Permission: All leave requests must be submitted in writing by parents or guardians. In case of an emergency, parents should notify the school as soon as possible.

  • Medical Certificates: For medical leave exceeding a specified duration, a medical certificate must be provided to ensure the student's well-being and facilitate their reintegration into the academic routine.

  • Late Comers: Latecomers Students will be sent home after 2 warnings.

4. Use of School Premises:

  • Restricted Access: Students are permitted only in designated areas during specified times. Unauthorized access to restricted areas may lead to disciplinary actions.

  • Respect for Facilities: Maintain the cleanliness and order of shared spaces, including corridors, restrooms, and common areas. Any damages or issues should be reported promptly to school authorities.

5. Student Behavior:

  • Respectful Conduct: Students are expected to treat peers, teachers, and staff with respect and courtesy. Any form of bullying, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Uniform Compliance: Adherence to the school's uniform code is mandatory. Students should take pride in wearing their uniforms as it represent the school's identity and promote a sense of unity.

6. Late Fees Structure:

  1. Due Date: Tuition fees are expected to be paid by the stipulated due date mentioned in the fee schedule, typically at the beginning of each academic term.

  2. Grace Period: A grace period of seven (7) days is provided to accommodate unforeseen circumstances and allow parents or guardians a reasonable window for fee payment without incurring late fees.

  3. Late Fees Calculation: After the grace period, a late fee will be applicable. The late fee is calculated based on a fixed percentage of the total outstanding fees, as specified in the school's fee policy.

  4. Communication: Reminders regarding upcoming due dates and the imposition of late fees will be communicated through various channels, including emails, SMS, and official school notices. It is the responsibility of parents or guardians to stay informed about fee deadlines.

  5. Waiver or Extension: Requests for a waiver or extension of the late fees may be considered under exceptional circumstances. Such requests must be submitted in writing to the school administration, explaining the reasons for the delay.

  6. Consequences of Non-Payment: Failure to pay the tuition fees, including late fees, within a reasonable time may result in the student's exclusion from classes and other school-related activities until the outstanding fees are settled.

  7. Discretionary Authority: The school administration reserves the right to exercise discretion in cases of genuine hardship. Parents or guardians facing financial difficulties are encouraged to proactively communicate with the school to explore potential solutions.

  8. Policy Review: The late fees policy is subject to periodic review to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. Any updates or changes to the policy will be communicated well in advance.

These rules and regulations are in line with the standards set by the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) Board. Violations may result in disciplinary actions, and we encourage open communication between students, parents, and school authorities to address concerns or seek clarification. By adhering to these guidelines, we collectively contribute to a positive, nurturing, and conducive learning environment at Learning Tree English Medium School.
